At that time, the Police Department had one employee, Chief Dominic Ferraro. Being the sole officer of the Department, Chief Ferraro was responsible for forming the Department, creating policy, enforcement of Village Ordinances, State Laws, as well as community involvement. In January 2011, the Police Department welcomed its first intern, Colin Zeumer, to the Department. At the time, Colin was in his senior year at the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point, working on his Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Law Enforcement. In July of 2011, Colin was offered a position as a Patrol Officer with the Village of Endeavor Police Department.

In October 2013, six years after the department’s inception, Chief Ferraro announced his retirement. Shortly after, the Village Board appointed Jennifer Beckett as the new Chief of Police. Chief Beckett, previously a deputy with the Marquette County Sheriff’s Office, brought valuable experience that helped advance the department further. By this time, Colin had left the department, and Officers Justin Wichman and Mike Cypert joined the agency in 2016.

In May 2019, Chief Beckett resigned, taking a position with the Wisconsin Capital Police. The following August, John Flannery was hired as the new Chief of Police. Chief Flannery had served as a deputy sheriff in northeast Wisconsin for nearly twenty years before moving on to become the Emergency Manager for the University of Wisconsin-Green Bay and the Director of the Police Academy at Northeast Wisconsin Technical College. During his time as a deputy sheriff, Chief Flannery implemented numerous community programs in a village with a population of 15,000 and received recognition from village officials for enhancing community safety. In 2001, he was awarded the “Wisconsin Law Enforcement Officer of the Year” by then-Wisconsin Attorney General James Doyle for his exceptional actions in the field.

Endeavor Police Advisory Committee

Members of the Committee:

Laura Myers

Lori Biba

Andy Remm

Note: Agenda for meetings will be posted on the Notice Section of the Village of Endeavor website one week before the meeting.
